The PCBI Youth Development Program targets youth that may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in the sport of rowing. As described in the Philadelphia Community Boathouse objectives, a quality youth rowing program in the City of Philadelphia is needed for those who have historically been excluded from the sport due to economic status or lack of availability and access. Participation in rowing at the youth level directly impacts character development, teamwork and group skills, values clarification, fitness, and confidence.

This program is made possible through the NK Challenge (www.nkchallenge.com)held in September each year. All costs of the program are fully supported through donations and PA Rowing Camps. There is no cost to participants. Major supporters of the event include:
