Your First Day PA Rowing Camps classes are held at Bachelors Barge Club, #6 Boathouse Row on Kelly Drive in Philadelphia. Parking is available along Boathouse Row or in the parking lot adjacent to Lloyd Hall. In the event both of these locations are full, additional spaces are available along Sedgeley Drive. Appropriate attire is tighter fitting clothing (you will get used to it). Spandex shorts and a t-shirt would be great. Most importantly wear whatever you are comfortable in...after the first day you will have a better understanding of why it is important to wear tighter clothes. You may bring a water bottle with you into the boat. The first day you will learn the rowing technique (except level II) on the ergs and then be introduced to rowing terminology, proper boat handling techniques, etc. You will get in the boat the first day too! We actually hold the boat of the end of the dock and have two people at a time learn the stroke. This way you will feel more comfortable during the second class when you go out into the water. |
